Dimitris Sevdalis is a piano player and composer born in Athens, Greece in 1976.

 

He started playing music at the age of seven, studied classical piano and then Jazz piano in Athens. In 1996 he received a scholarship from the Berklee College Of Music, which he graduated from in 1999, with a Diploma in Professional Music and honored with a Magna Cum Laude.

 

Upon his return to Greece in 2000, Dimitris joined the world famous Greek singer Haris Alexiou .

 

In 2005, he released his personal Latin Jazz CD entitled " HABANA VIEJA".

 

In 2007 he joined the group Palenque Latin All Stars and played with special guests from New York such as, two times Grammy award nominee, violinist Alfredo De La Fe, Grammy award nominee trombonist Jimmy Bosch, etc. 

 

Dimitris has also played all over Greece with Yiorgos Fakanas group and special guests such as, Dave Weckl, Alex Acuna, Anthony Jackson, Eric Marienthal, Birelli Lagrene, Greg Howe, Dennis Chambers, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez etc.

 

On September 2010 he embarked on a tour in Japan and Korea with Yiorgos Fakanas Group, Anthony Jackson and Horacio el Negro Hernandez presenting Anthony Jackson's first personal CD entitled " Interspirit ".

 

Currently Dimitris recorded his new CD “Lagrimas Claras” which is in Bolero style combined with Jazz and Neo-Soul sounds. Songs Zizou's Mood and Pocas Palabras which are included on this CD, won the Akademia Music Awards competition in Los Angeles for best Jazz and Latin composition.
